Lost Coast openings run through October, Wave lottery closes July 31
What dropped this week
Lyell Canyon (Donohue Pass eligible) had the busiest week, with new dates popping for July 23, July 27, August 1, and a cluster of September slots on the 18th, 20th, 23rd, 28th, 29th, and 30th. Happy Isles to Past LYV opened up for July 26. Lost Coast is the standout: openings showed up across a huge stretch of the calendar, from July 20 all the way out to October 20, with dates scattered through August, September, and October. If Lost Coast has been on your radar, there is a lot to work with right now. Olympic saw two permits move. Enchanted Valley opened August 1 and 2, and Seven Lakes opened August 10 through 13. St. Helens picked up scattered July dates too, including the 14th, 16th, 19th, and 29th.
Open right now
Permits currently showing availability from this week's activity: Happy Isles to Past LYV, Lyell Canyon (both Donohue Pass eligible), Lost Coast, Enchanted Valley, Seven Lakes, St. Helens climbing permits, Half Dome, and the Mount St. Helens NVM Summit Climb permit. Worth a direct check on any of these if you have been waiting on a specific date.
Lotteries opening/closing soon
Two lottery windows close July 31: The Wave and the Selway River. If you have applications sitting unfinished for either, this is the week to lock them in. Angels Landing's lottery opens August 1, so get your dates ready to submit as soon as the window flips over.
This week's data insight
Openings this stretch clustered hard on weekends. Saturday logged 390 and Friday 315, while Wednesday and Thursday sat at 35 and 30. If you are refreshing pages hoping to catch a new date, weekday mornings are quieter than you would think. Fridays and Saturdays are when the real churn happens, so plan your checking around those two days.
