Overview
Visitors flock to W.P. Franklin Campground for its well-kept facilities and location on the Caloosahatchee River, where campers can fish, boat and take it easy in sunny southwest Florida.
The campground, about 10 miles east of Fort Myers, provides visitors with a taste of tranquil, tropical country life.

Recreation
Fishing for both salt and fresh water game fish is popular, as is boating. A unique feature of the campground is its cruiser sites, where campers sleep on their boat while enjoying the perks of the campsite facilities.
Facilities
The 29 RV sites and 8 boat sites are equipped with 50 amp electric and water hookups. A boat ramp, fishing pier and trailer dump station are conveniently onsite.
Natural Features
The campground is almost completely surrounded by the Caloosahatchee River with just a narrow stretch of land connecting it to the shore.
The Caloosahatchee River is part of the 152 mile Okeechobee Waterway that spans South Florida from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.

Visit the U.S Army Corps of Engineers visitor center across the river in the W.P. Franklin South Recreation Area.
Visit downtown Fort Myers for flea markets, grocery stores, shopping and the historic Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Winter Estates,

Campers may stay at WP Franklin North Campground for a maximum 14 days in a 30-day consecutive period. Campers may not make reservations under different names in order to stay for more than 14 days in a 30-day consecutive period. Campers may not use more than one Rec.gov account to stay more than 14 days in a 30-day consecutive period. Camper(s) who exceed the 14-day limit without park ranger permission will have the remainder of their reservation cancelled without guarantee of notice or refund.
Campground quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
Check-in time is 12:00 p.m.
Arriving campers that require the use of the trailer dump station prior to occupying their campsite will be charged the $20.00 use fee as the waste being dumped was not generated on site.
Campers are limited to one RV/trailer sewage dump per week of stay, maximum two in a 14-day period. Portable blue holding tanks may dump unlimited times during their stay.
Day Use fishing is restricted to the fishing pier, unless you are a registered camper.
Use of the fishing pier and day use activities conclude at sunset.
Assistive mobility devices, such as a powered wheel chair, electric scooter, or golf cart, are permitted for use by individuals with mobility impairments for necessary transportation within the campgrounds. Individual must provide one of the following: a valid, State-issued disability parking placard or card, State-issued proof of disability, or similar document.
Campsites have maximum occupancy of 8 people per site

Campground entrance gate opens at Sunrise and closes at Sunset.
Campers are limited to the use of one Rec.gov account and one America the Beautiful Pass per stay. Campers violating this rule risk having reservations cancelled and refunds forfeited.
