About Redondo Campground
Overview
The Redondo Campground is situated in a stand of Ponderosa Pine interspersed with grass and wildflower meadows within the Jemez National Recreation Area. The campground is approximately 8,200 feet in elevation and you can plan for warm days and cool nights. The Valles Caldera National Preserve and Bandelier National Monument are within driving distance, both are accessed via the Jemez Mountains Trail National Scenic Byway (NM State Highway 4).
Recreation
Redondo Campground is one of five developed campgrounds in the Jemez National Recreation Area on the Jemez Ranger District. There are numerous outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the Jemez National Recreation Area, from scenic driving to fishing accesses and day-use picnic areas. Redondo Campground is a brief drive from the San Diego Overlook scenic site, and within a short drive from access points to Trail 137.

Redondo Campground is part of the Jemez National Recreation Area. There are numerous developed, dispersed, and undeveloped recreation opportunities throughout the Jemez National Recreation Area. It is also near the Valles Caldera National Preserve, Bandelier National Monument, Dome and Bandlier Wilderness Areas, the town of Los Alamos, and a two-hour drive to Santa Fe.

This campground is a Reservation campground starting in 2026 NO CASH is accepted at the site. All Site reservations can be made the day of your arrival.
This is a historic campground. Large RVs, fifth wheels, and longer tow-behind trailers may not fit at all sites.
Online reservations are payment for two vehicles MAXIMUM; that includes the tow vehicle or RV and one additional vehicle.
Campsites 2 - 27 will accommodate different size RV's & Trailers, please ensure your camper/RV is within the identified sizes for that site BEFORE making your reservation.
Campsites 28-62 are TENT sites ONLY, these sites will not accommodate RV's or trailers.
Check-out time is at 11:00 AM. Check-in time is at 1:00 PM.
Quiet hours are between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Generators are not to be used between that time and all music must be turned down as to not affect fellow campers.
Dead and down only in fire rings; do not cut or chop on any standing trees.
No ATV/ORV use in the campground. Travel is restricted elsewhere on the forest.
Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org .
No dump station available at this campground.
Charcoal only in pedestal grills.
There are no potable water sources in the campground. Please ensure you have enough water for your visit.
