About Hickory Creek (Tx) Campground

Overview

Hickory Creek sits on the extremely popular Lewisville Lake near Dallas, Texas. The almost 30,000-acre reservoir attracts a fair amount of visitors in summer months with warm water temperatures and excellent fishing opportunities.

Recreation

Visitors at Lewisville Lake enjoy picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing and relaxing. Photographers will stay entertained with wildlife and colorful sunsets, while hikers and bikers like to explore the 50 miles of natural surface and paved trails surrounding the lake.

Facilities

The large campground boasts 121 sites with electric hookups. Tent primitive walk-in sites are not available at this time. Park amenities include hot showers, a dump station, and boat ramp.

Natural Features

The lake stems from the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in northern Texas, and offers little visibility, but plenty of room for boating and watercraft.

The park sits on the Hickory Creek Arm of Lewisville Lake, very near to the suburbs of Dallas, Texas.

Nearby Attractions

Several public golf courses are located around the lake, and horseback riding opportunities are available, too. Hickory Creek is just 35 miles away from downtown Dallas.

Primitive sites are CLOSED at this time.

Check in starts at 3:00pm . No early check-in. You may be asked to wait OUTSIDE of park if you arrive early.

The park gate closes at 10pm and there is no entry/re-entry until 6am. Exit gate will open in case of emergency. There is NO code for the gate. Please plan accordingly.

No fireworks, firearms or chainsaws allowed

No off-road vehicles allowed, including golf carts.

Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.

Campers are alloted 14 days in a 30 day period. Without authorization ANY attempts to circumvent system such as but not limited to changing reservation details may result in the revocation of any current and or future reservations.

Pets must be on a physical restraint no longer than 6ft at all times. Pets may not be left unattended or unsupervised at any time. This includes being left outside on restraint while you're in your tent/camper/rv.

STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES . Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood.

CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water. Dispose of unwanted bait, worms, fish parts, or other organisms into the trash and not into the environment. For more information visit https://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/rec.
