About Twin Bridges Group Shelter
Overview
Twin Bridges, located on one of Waco Lake's sandy beaches, is ideal for families and friends to enjoy picnicking, sightseeing and water activities, all while staying within the Waco city limits.
Recreation
The main lake shoreline has a large amount of submerged timber, which typically holds fish year-round. Anglers will find plenty of catfish, crappie, large and smallmouth bass as well as sunfish.
Swimming beaches, boat ramp and dock all help visitors enjoy the lake.
Facilities
Twin Bridges has two swimming beaches, horseshoe pits, a covered playground and a sand volleyball court. The group shelters can accommodate up to 225 guests.
Natural Features
The shelter is located on the west shore of the Waco Lake. The lake is primarily fed by the Bosque River, which runs for 115 miles through central Texas.
Nearby Attractions
Horseback riding, hiking and biking can be done on the 20-mile Lacy Point Hiking and Biking Trail. The trail is accessible from the Lacy Point boat ramp or Reynolds Creek Park.

The closing time of Twin Bridges Group Shelter is 8:30 p.m.
Please contact the Waco Lake Project Office (254) 756-5359 to make arrangements to obtain parking passes prior to arrival. Every vehicle must display the pass on their dash or pay the day use fee for the Park.
Vehicles may only be parked in the designated spots for the group shelter. No parking or driving on the grass/shoreline.
Group Shelter must be kept clean, and trash collected at all times.
Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
Bounce houses: Bounce houses are prohibited in all areas of the parks excluding reserved group shelters. A permit is required prior to the use of bounce houses at any group shelter (size limitations may apply). Bounce houses that include water features are prohibited throughout the entirety of the parks, including group shelters. Bounce houses must be attended by an adult at all times.
